Thes trips are offered through GSUSA's travel program for older girl scouts, attracting individuals from all over the country. Participants fly into Duluth where they are met by our staff. The group will get to know each other through outdoor activities in the Duluth area before embarking on a 7 or 10 day wilderness canoe adventure.
These trips typically go into Quetico Provincial Park, the Canadian wilderness area adjoining the BWCAW. Destination trips are al-youth trips, so they will always be accompanied by two trained guides and potentially a Guide-In-Training (GIT). We try to split up participants who know each other to encourage building new connections.
Costs are typically higher for these trips due to added transportation, activities, and Canadian permits. Prices can be found on the GSUSA Destination page or our website. Two sessions are offered, one for grades 7-9 and one for grades 10-12.
Destinations are ideal if you are:
A girl scout anywhere in the US coming alone (you will likely be put in a different crew than your friends)
Looking for extra adventure and a longer trip
Ready for a break from your phone and a full imersion in the wilderness
Check the GSUSA Destinations page in the fall (usually August) to see dates, prices, and to apply! Our trips are listed as North Country Rock-N-Wilderness.
