Membership in the Alumni Association allows you to help support and influence the future of the Northern Lakes Girl Scout Canoe Base. Currently, the NLCBAA is focused on providing guide housing, recruiting participants, guide retention, and bi-annual guide reunions.
We welcome former guides, guides-in-training, participants, and friends of the Canoe Base to become members of the Northern Lakes Canoe Base Alumni Association.
Previous staff members of the Northern Lakes Canoe Base can enroll as Alumni. They have an active voice in pre-voting matters, can vote at annual meetings, and can become board members.
Former GITs, participants, community members, relatives, and others can enroll as Friends of the Canoe Base. Friends have an active voice in pre-voting matters and volunteering with the Alumni Association. Friends are not eligible to vote or hold office.
To make membership more equitable and accessible, we allow both monetary donations and volunteer hours to count toward membership. From Section 2.5 of our bylaws:
You will be a member from the date of the donation of your time/money through December 31st of the year following your most recent donation.
