Our standard trips are scheduled in advance and available throughout the summer. They range from 3-10 days in the woods with most trips spending 1 day at the Canoe Base and 5 days in the Boundary Waters.
Girl scouts are typically dropped off by a parent in Ely, MN on arrival day and picked up at the Canoe Base on departure day.
Standard trip crews consist of 2 guides, up to 6 Girl Scouts, and may include a Guide In Training (GIT). The trips stay in the Boundary Waters, but will likely travel along some lakes on the US-Canada border. The latest trip costs can be found in the Council's Program Guide or here on our website.
Standard trips are ideal for Girl Scouts who:
Live in Minnesota, Wisconsin, or within driving distance of the Canoe Base
Want to come alone or with 1-2 friends
Are looking for a more budget-friendly option, compared to a GSUSA Destination
For standard trips, you will find trip descriptions in the Girl Scouts Lakes and Pines' Overnight Camp Guide on their website. Camp Guides for the upcoming summer are usually published in February/March of each year -- mark your calendar!
